Supporting mental health carers across Queensland since the 1970’s

Arafmi began in the mid-1970s with a small relatives discussion group in Brisbane.
Today, we continue to support mental health carers across Queensland through support groups, workshops, advocacy, and community initiatives. Our mission is to empower carers with knowledge, support and connection.

Carer Support Facilitator – Carer Gateway Program

West End, Brisbane QLD (Hybrid)

In this rewarding and autonomous role, you’ll engage directly with mental health carers in your region, supporting their wellbeing, navigating services, and delivering tailored support through coaching, education sessions, and group facilitation.

You’ll be a key point of contact for new and existing carers in the program, completing registrations and needs assessments, helping them access funding and services, and building trusted relationships with local stakeholders and service providers.

This position is a maximum term contract position to 30 June 2027.

Lived experience as a carer for someone with mental ill-health is highly valued, but not required. Please note: You will never be asked to disclose the specifics of your lived experience.
